Now we need technical ownership.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Tech Lead to take immediate hands-on ownership of our mobile stack (Expo + Firebase) and lead day-to-day engineering execution.

This is a deep-in-the-code, unblock-the-team, ship-fast role.

You will:

  • Fully understand the current system end-to-end

  • Bring clarity where documentation is limited

  • Improve architecture where needed

  • Ship features rapidly (7-14 days shipping cadence)

  • Stabilize and scale the stack

Over time, this role can evolve into CTO, based on performance and leadership.

Core Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of Solu’s Expo + Firebase stack

  • Audit and document the existing architecture

  • Identify technical debt and prioritize fixes

  • Lead rapid feature delivery cycles

  • Improve performance, scalability, and reliability

  • Own mobile builds, releases, and deployment pipelines

  • Ship and maintain live applications on Apple App Store and Google Play Store

  • Establish engineering workflows and standards

  • Unblock execution across frontend and backend

  • Collaborate closely with product and design

Mandatory Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Expo / React Native

  • Deep familiarity with Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Functions, etc.)

  • Proven experience shipping and maintaining live apps on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store

  • Experience handling app store submissions, updates, rejections, and compliance

  • Ability to understand and refactor undocumented systems

  • Backend capability (APIs, cloud functions, architecture thinking)

  • Comfortable operating in an early-stage startup

Strong Plus

  • Experience as a Founding Engineer or early-stage technical lead

  • Experience stabilizing inherited or messy codebases

  • Experience improving mobile performance at scale

  • Ability to mentor and grow future engineers
