Role Overview
We are hiring a Tech Lead to take immediate hands-on ownership of our mobile stack (Expo + Firebase) and lead day-to-day engineering execution.
This is a deep-in-the-code, unblock-the-team, ship-fast role.
You will:
Fully understand the current system end-to-end
Bring clarity where documentation is limited
Improve architecture where needed
Ship features rapidly (7-14 days shipping cadence)
Stabilize and scale the stack
Over time, this role can evolve into CTO, based on performance and leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Take end-to-end ownership of Solu’s Expo + Firebase stack
Audit and document the existing architecture
Identify technical debt and prioritize fixes
Lead rapid feature delivery cycles
Improve performance, scalability, and reliability
Own mobile builds, releases, and deployment pipelines
Ship and maintain live applications on Apple App Store and Google Play Store
Establish engineering workflows and standards
Unblock execution across frontend and backend
Collaborate closely with product and design
Mandatory Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with Expo / React Native
Deep familiarity with Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Functions, etc.)
Proven experience shipping and maintaining live apps on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store
Experience handling app store submissions, updates, rejections, and compliance
Ability to understand and refactor undocumented systems
Backend capability (APIs, cloud functions, architecture thinking)
Comfortable operating in an early-stage startup
Strong Plus
Experience as a Founding Engineer or early-stage technical lead
Experience stabilizing inherited or messy codebases
Experience improving mobile performance at scale
Ability to mentor and grow future engineers
