PHP Engineer (Junior+/Mid)

We’re now looking for a Junior+/Mid PHP Engineer to join a development team working on modular, scalable, and microservices-based solutions. In this role, you will contribute to designing, implementing, and improving web applications while developing your skills in modern backend technologies and software engineering practices.

You will work with PHP, Symfony, databases, APIs, and cloud-based solutions, contributing to system development, performance improvements, and code quality within a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend solutions based on PHP 8+ and Symfony 6+

• Analyze business requirements and evaluate their impact on system architecture

• Design, build, and maintain microservices-based components

• Integrate applications with external APIs and third-party systems

• Optimize application performance, code quality, and system architecture

• Maintain and refactor existing code to improve performance, readability, and compliance with best practices

• Develop and maintain event-driven application components

• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization

• Design, version, and secure REST APIs

• Implement and maintain automated tests across different application layers

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards

• Collaborate with other developers and team members to deliver high-quality software solutions

• Continuously improve technical skills and adopt modern development practices

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of commercial experience in software development

• Practical experience with PHP 8+ and Symfony 6+

• Experience building and integrating event-driven applications (e.g., RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, Webhooks)

• Knowledge of SQL databases, especially MySQL 8+, including data modeling and query optimization

• Practical experience working with Docker

• Understanding of web application development concepts

• Experience designing, versioning, and securing APIs (REST, OAuth, JWT)

• Knowledge of caching mechanisms (Redis, AWS ElastiCache) and application profiling techniques

• Practical experience using Git in daily development work

• Experience with static code analysis tools (PHPStan, CSFixer)

• Experience writing automated tests, including unit, functional, integration, and E2E tests (PHPUnit)

• Practical experience using advanced AI tools supporting software development processes (AI-native mindset)

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles

• Knowledge of software development best practices and design patterns

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks

• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills

• Polish language proficiency at advanced or native level

• English proficiency at minimum B2 level, allowing work in an international environment
