We are currently in search of a seasoned Python Developer to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our open-source software, openIMIS. This system is designed for the effective management of health insurance and social protection schemes. It streamlines the tracking of beneficiaries, claims, and payments, thereby enhancing the efficiency of governments and NGOs in running insurance programs. Your responsibilities will include building high-performing web server applications, working with established code bases, and running live demos for clients.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a Software Developer role.

• Profound knowledge of Python and experience with Django.

• Understanding of Web Server applications (HTTP, REST APIs, deployment strategies).

• Practical knowledge of Docker and familiarity with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with CI/CD solutions (especially GitHub Actions).

• Experience with established code bases, a.k.a legacy software.

• Strong understanding of performance topics.

• Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills.

• Familiarity with React, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, AWS ecosystem, and working with open-source communities is a plus.
