We are searching for a highly experienced Service Manager to join a project for a European Union organization. The role focuses on the design, implementation, and management of Software Defined Networking (SDN) services, with a strong emphasis on micro-segmentation.

About the project:

You will support a long-term initiative aimed at strengthening SDN services and security measures, in alignment with the digital and operational strategy of a key EU institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of SDN services, with micro-segmentation as a core component.

  • Design, document, and monitor micro-segmentation policies and service definitions.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all SDN and micro-segmentation service matters.

  • Ensure service delivery meets SLA and KPI requirements, especially regarding segmentation enforcement and security.

  • Lead incident, change, and problem management processes related to SDN services.

  • Coordinate and lead service reviews and governance meetings with stakeholders and service providers.

  • Integrate SDN services with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

  • Drive automation and ensure compliance with Zero Trust and security-by-design principles.

Requirements and key skills:

Technical Expertise:

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT Service Management with a strong background in SDN and micro-segmentation.

  • Proven track record of designing and operationalizing micro-segmentation strategies in SDN environments (Cisco ACI, NSX-T, Illumio).

  • Solid knowledge of network policy models, traffic flows, service chaining, and security zoning.

  • Familiarity with cloud-native networking and hybrid security architecture is a plus.

  • Experience managing SLA/KPI-based services, reporting, and performance improvement.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with various EU stakeholders.

  • Ability to translate technical topics into business-oriented discussions.

  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making in critical environments.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multilingual EU environment.

Mandatory:

  • EU Citizenship

  • Fluent English (other EU languages are a plus)

  • Willingness to work on-site in Luxembourg or Brussels

  • Ability to obtain EU Security Clearance (EU Secret)

Offer:

  • Security Clearance: Must be eligible for EU Confidential Clearance (can be initiated after offer)
